Verity Goes Home!

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was 11 days post-op and Verity is ready to go home! All her prerequisites of going home has been satisfied: eating and breathing at the same time, generally having an appetite, and weight gain on the correct trajectory. I’ll let the following pictures tell the story:

Morning of discharge: final inspections of Verity’s incisions and removal of steri-strips. Most importantly, she has her discharge ladybug outfit on.

Dana wheels Verity out of the CCU in her brand new ride! Nancy and CCU nurses look on in excitement.

Saying good-bye to Lurie gift store over-sized giraffe. We’ll miss you, ridiculously large stuffed giraffe.

Once Verity got home, she slept for 4 hours straight. She must have been so tired.
